SUMMARY:ONLINE: Site Reliability Engineering Part 1
DESCRIPTION:Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) is a 'SRE-ious' movement that breaks down the traditional barriers and ends the age-old battles between Development & Operations teams. SRE essentially creates a hybrid role that tries to maintain an equilibrium between developing new features and running production systems reliably.\n\n\n\nThis is a CMG member only event\, sign in or join today to register. \n\n\n\nThis is a 3 part webinar series that attempts to explore SRE from its origins\, an insight into its specific terminology to its current evolution as a standard to maintain or run production systems. Each part either tries to answer a series of questions or explores a set of inter-related topics in an attempt to go in-depth and provide an overall picture\n\n\n\nPart 1 SRE Introduction ? This part aims at introducing SRE fundamentals by answering a series of questions\n\n	What is SRE? Is SRE different from DevOps? Are they competing standards?\n	Reliability vs Availability? How are they measured?\n	What are the essential tools of SRE? What is toil?\n	How to calculate toil and how to eliminate toil? How does Automation fit into SRE?\n	Measuring vs Monitoring vs Alerting How are they different?\n\n\nAbout the Presenter\n\nSandeep Madamanchi is currently working as Director in R&D division at Manhattan Associates and heads the Productivity Engineering & Tooling team. Sandeep has been with Manhattan Associates from 2007 and worked in various capacities as a Business Analyst\, Design Lead\, Development Manager and Performance Engineering Lead. Sandeep is currently passionate about cloud technologies and he is a certified GCP & AWS Architect. In his current role\, Sandeep is responsible to provide cloud platform infrastructure support to R&D team for internal development\, automate repetitive tasks and innovate new tools to increase productivity. Sandeep is also passionate about sharing knowledge and has published articles on topics related to Docker\, Kubernetes\, GCP services etc. with popular publications on medium.
