About the job

About the Role

Seeking a Technical Project Manager to own a portfolio of 6–10 concurrent infrastructure and technical projects. This role is execution-focused: your primary mandate is keeping projects on schedule, on budget, and performing against approved project plans — not solutioning or hands-on technical delivery. You'll be the person leadership looks to for an honest, current answer on "where do things actually stand."

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of 6–10 active infrastructure/technical projects simultaneously, tracking timeline adherence, milestone completion, and plan-vs-actual performance
  • Maintain and report project health (schedule, budget, scope, risk) to stakeholders on a recurring cadence
  • Identify schedule slippage and resource conflicts early; drive corrective action plans rather than just flagging problems
  • Coordinate across infrastructure, network, systems, and vendor teams to remove blockers
  • Own project documentation: charters, schedules, RAID logs, status reports
  • Escalate risks and resourcing gaps to leadership with clear, data-backed recommendations
  • Manage change control and scope adjustments against baseline plans

Required Qualifications

  • Active PMP certification (required, non-negotiable)
  • Minimum 5+ years managing technical/infrastructure projects
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects (portfolio-level, not single large program)
  • Background in infrastructure project delivery: data center, network, systems migration, cloud infrastructure, or similar — heavier weighting than application/software delivery experience
  • Strong command of project scheduling tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent) and reporting to executive stakeholders
  • Must be local to the Kansas City metro area

Preferred Qualifications

  • Healthcare industry experience (compliance awareness: HIPAA-adjacent project handling, change windows, downtime coordination)
  • Experience managing vendor/contractor resources alongside internal teams
