Coding & Cupcakes
Join us for our monthly coding series, Coding & Cupcakes. Parents and daughters are invited to attend sessions to learn about code and bond while working on programming projects together. Our mission is to get girls excited about code at a young age and to dispel any notion that coding isn't for girls. Did we mention there are cupcakes, yummy, yummy, cupcakes!
In this workshop attendees will learn to build their own text-based game using tools like Python and Mu Editor!
Python is a high-level programming language designed to be easy to read and simple to implement.
Mu is a Python editor for beginning programmers, designed to make the learning experience more pleasant. It gives students the ability to experience success early on, which is important anytime you're learning something new. Most programming tools are written by developers for developers and aren't well-suited for beginning programmers, regardless of their age. Mu, however, is different written by a teacher for students. There will be lots of guidance and support for those with little to no coding experience so come join the Coding & Cupcakes fun!
