Business Analyst III

This position is located in the NAIC’s state-of-the-art offices in Town Pavilion in the heart of downtown Kansas City which includes great restaurants and top-notch entertainment venues. This is a full-time position in a positive and flexible environment.
 
Responsibilities include:

  • Project Leadership
  • Performs all steps of the NAIC/NIPR project/application development methodology, except Development, as necessary.
  • Proven experience leading several multi-person medium projects through each phase of the application development life cycle as per the NAIC methodology.
  • Develops, maintain, monitors and updates project plans as assigned, with specific responsibility for the following:
    • Project plan development, monitoring, maintenance, and requirements gathering for all State Based Systems licensing applications.
  • Performs analytical analysis on designated data, writing summaries and making recommendations based upon that analysis, with specific responsibility for the following: licensing applications.

Secondary Functions:

  • Develops logical data, process, and workflow models as needed.
  • Coordinates/develops regression test plans and data, as needed.
  • Regression tests to ensure other modules or systems are not inadvertently impacted.
  • Coordinates/develops testing completion plans for new systems or enhancements to existing systems, creating complex test scenarios and test data, as needed; monitors deliverables and deadlines to ensure the plan is properly executed.

  • Familiarity with or ability to learn SQL Navigator, SQL +, or other querying tools.

Minimum Education and/or experience required:
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA) from four-year college or university and no less than fifteen years’ experience in the essential functions of this position; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Must have experience with the entire development life cycle, starting with the analysis, design, construction, implementation, and following it through to the evolution phases. 
  • Experience in Oracle, SQL. 
  • Experience in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel).
