Software Engineer II
The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) has an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer II. The Software Engineer II position is responsible for collaborating with a scrum team and stakeholders to develop applications for our customers. Also responsible for improving and adapting existing applications to meet ongoing security requirements and feature enhancements.
This position is based out of the NAIC’s Kansas City, MO office. This is a full-time hybrid-remote position, in a positive and flexible environment. Residency within 100 miles of the Kansas City, Missouri office is required, along with in-office work as scheduled.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop applications based on business and technical requirements
- Implement application design by utilizing development languages and tools
- Develop and execute unit tests for assigned projects
- Ensure the code is scalable and meets performance requirements for assigned projects through performance tuning
- This position does not have direct reports.
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Computer Science or Associates degree in Applied Science specific to Computer Science, and three plus years related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Systems & Technology Requirements
- J2EE practices and design patterns and frameworks (Java 8 and above)
- Angular, Typescript
- JSP/JSTL
- Oracle SQL or equivalent SQL experience.
- HTML / CSS / JavaScript.
- Git (or other source code management tools)
- Strong problem solving and debugging skills.
- Frontend and backend development
Must be able and willing to travel to locations throughout the United States and with such frequency as necessary to meet the needs of this position and the Association.
Compensation
Salary offer range is $62,408 - $82,000, commensurate with experience and education.
