Additive Manufacturing + 5-Axis Machinest

Posted: 07/02/2021

DI exists to relieve the world of mediocre experiences and to create remarkable ones. Our people make the remarkable possible through an unwavering display of uncommon commitment each day.

This role requires three to five years of 5-axis CNC machining experience and a strong interest in Additive Manufacturing. The primary function of this role will be to operate DI’s LSAM. Equipped with a five-axis router, the LSAM machine is capable of printing large-scale objects and parts from reinforced thermoplastic composite materials. There are only a handful of units that have been deployed in the U.S. by Thermwood—one of which is now operational at Dimensional Innovations.

The Additive Manufacturing + 5-Axis Machinist will work closely with the Innovation Lab to initially evaluate and estimate LSAM related projects. If projects move forward, the Additive Manufacturing + 5-Axis Machinist will operate both the print and cut sides of the LSAM to project completion.

Reporting to the Innovation Lab Manager & Production Supervisor, this role is a full-time, hourly position scheduled Monday – Friday, with the availability for overtime when necessary. The Additive Manufacturing + 5-Axis Machinist is a strong team player with a positive attitude, is willing to take direction as well as be a self-starter and enjoys working in a creative, problem solving, and fast-paced manufacturing environment.
